Reid, Ed.
Born in Scotland, settled in Indiana, served with the 3rd Indiana Cavalry during the Civil War and thought to have acted as a spy in Alabama after joining the 13th Indiana Cavalry as a Lieutenant in 1864. After the war, became a professor of ancient languages, teaching at Iberia College in Ohio and then in Monmouth, Illinois.
