Brayley, E. W. (Edward Wedlake), 1773-1854

Edward Wedlake Brayley, English topographer and archaeologist. With his friend John Britton, he composed the popular ballad "The Powder Tax, or, A Puff at the Guinea Pigs," which sold seventy to eighty-thousand copies. The pair later became co-editors of The Beauties of England and Wales, a journal on the topography and archaeology of Great Britain.
