The position of Penn State Treasurer was replaced by the title of Vice President for (in succession) Finance (1957-1971), Finance and Operations (1972-1985), Finance and Treasurer (1986-1994), and Finance and Business (1995- ). This officer manages and controls the financial and physical resources of the University, both for operating and capital purposes.
