Established in 1955 by the Board of Regents to represent the interests of the all nonclassified, full-time University of Maryland employees engaged in instructional and/or research activities on the Baltimore and College Park campuses who held the academic rank of instructor or higher, and other full-time employees of either campus who occupied specifically identified administrative postions.
