UNC Media and Instructional Support Center
The Media and Instructional Support Center was established in 1976 to promote the development and use of audio-visual materials in university classrooms. Eventually the Center became responsible for developing course materials and training faculty in their use; acquiring, installing and maintaining equipment; photographic processing; storing and providing bibliographic control of campus holdings of audio-visual materials; and operating two-way television facilities. In 1986 the Media and Instructional Support Center was divided into two, separate administrative units: the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Classroom Technologies Service Center.
