Anglemyer, Philinda Parsons Rand, 1876-1972.

Philinda Parsons (Rand) Anglemyer taught English in the Philippines from 1901 to 1907. She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, to John B. and Victoria (Cheek) Rand. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1899 with a degree in zoology. While in the Philippines, she met and married Thaddeus Delos Anglemyer, and gave birth to their first child, Katharine. In 1908, the family returned to the United States, where daughter Mary was born. Anglemyer lived in Washington state, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C., where she served on local education and welfare committees and in various volunteer organizations.
