Rasmussen, Harold
Harold Rasmussen was a heater helper in the south Chicago works of Republic Steel and president of Blue Eagle Lodge No.57 of the Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers. In 1936 he became a staff representative of the Steel Workers Organizing Committee (SWOC). He was involved in organizing activities for SWOC in the Midwest and the South until July 1942, when he was assigned to District 30 of the newly formed United Steelworkers of America (USWA), headquartered in Indianapolis. After serving in the U.S. Army, he rejoined District 30, working from December 1946 to 1970.
