Pollard, Violet McDougall, 1889-1977.
Violet McDougall was born 17 July 1889 in Maxville, Ontario, Canada. She was executive secretary to four successive Virginia governors and married Governor John Garland Pollard in 1933. She became active in the Democratic Party in the 1930s and was National Committeewoman for Virginia 1940-1968. She joined the staff of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in 1940, and was associate director 1940s-1956.
