National General Krzyzanowski Memorial Committee.

Wladimir B. Krzyzanowski (1824-1887) was a Polish American who worked as an engineer in New York. During the Civil War, Krzyzanowski commanded the 58th Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry, known as the Polish Legion. The Legion served in the Battles of Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Chattanooga, Cross Keys, and Gettysburg. After the War, Krzyzanowski was appointed a Special Agent of the Treasury Department at the New York Customs House. He was originally buried in Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery, but his remains were later transferred to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
