Gracy, Alice Duggan
Arthur Pope Duggan, Sr., was a real estate developer and sales manager for the Littlefield Lands Company in Littlefield, Texas, president of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce, and a Texas State Senator. Born in 1876 in Hays County, Texas, Duggan attended the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (now Texas A&M University), where he received a bachelor of civil engineering degree in 1895. He then went to attend the University of Texas, from which he received a law degree in 1898. In 1900, Duggan opened a law office in Stamford, Texas, and married Sarah Elizabeth Harral, a niece of Maj. George W. Littlefield, on June 18, 1902, in Austin. They had two children.
Duggan owned the Duggan Abstract Company from 1904-1911. From 1925-1927, he was president of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce in Littlefield, Texas. His civic activities eventually led him to serve as a Texas senator from 1933-1935. He died of heart failure on September 6, 1935.
