Bolden, Ethel Evangeline Martin, 1918-
Ethel Bolden (1918-2002) was an African-American educator, librarian, and community leader; born, 1918, in Charleston, S.C.; raised in Columbia, S.C., in Edgewood neighborhood; 1936 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School; 1940 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University (Charlotte, N.C.); after pursuing periodic classes in library science at library courses at Allen University and Benedict College in Columbia, Bolden graduated in 1959 from Atlanta University with a Masters of Library Science; wife of Charles Frank Bolden, a union that produced two sons, Charles F. Bolden, Jr., and Warren M. Bolden
