Chapman, John William, 1894-1978.
Illinois Republican Lt. Governor from 1953-1960 from Chicago, a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, Governor Green's executive secretary from 1941-1948, and a member of the Illinois parole board from 1949-1950. Ran with Governor Stratton but in 1960 was outspoken in his anger at Stratton when he was not appointed a delegate to the National Republican Convention by Stratton. They both ran for third terms and lost.
