Almost immediately agreements were entered into with J & P Coats Ltd, Clark & Co Ltd, thread manufacturers, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, Jonas Brook & Bros , thread manufacturers, Meltham Mills, Huddersfield, Kirklees, England and James Chadwick & Bros Ltd , cotton manufacturers, Bolton, England, for United Thread Mills Ltd to purchase properties from them. The companies continued to operate in their mills, but as a branch of United Thread Mills Ltd. United Thread Mills Ltd appear also to have owned property of I P Clarke & Co Ltd, thread manufacturers, Leicester, England. In 1936, J & P Coats Ltd transferred their shares in United Thread Mills Ltd to I & P Clarke & Co Ltd. Records indicate the company continued to trade after 1962.
