This is a land patent of George W. Landess. It states on the front of the deed: "Deed from Landess & wife of this property to R.B. Knapp & M.S. Burrell Feby 12/85. Recorded in Book 1 of Deeds folio 277, Paid." It is a land patent of George W. Landess of Whitman County, Washington Territory. He has deposited in the General Land Office of the United States a certificate of the register of the land office at Spokane Falls, Washington Territory whereby it appears that full payment has been made by the said George W. Landess. The property was for 160 acres. This deed was recorded on Feb. 1, 1886 ... at the request of J. H. Bellinger and recorded in Book 1 of record of patents of Whitman County, Washington Territory, on page 390. It was witnessed by John C. Turner.
