Corbin, James E.
James P. Corbin was a student at the Virginia Military Institute during the Civil War. He served in the cadet corps at the battle of New Market and continued in army service until the close of the war. In the early 1870s, Corbin operated a store and an insurance agency in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In the 1880s and 1890s, he operated Moss Neck and Race Field Plantations in Caroline County, Virginia. Corbin was a justice of the peace and a clerk for the city council of Fredericksburg.
