Slavin, Walter
Walter Slavin was a significant figure in the development of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. He was instrumental in convincing Perkin-Elmer to enter a field in which they later built and sold over 50,000 instruments. Through his friendships with pioneers in the field like Sir Alan Walsh and Boris L'vov he was able to secure their know-how for Perkin-Elmer as consultants. He also wrote two highly-regarded books on the topic.
