John W. Barriger was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He was a lieutenant colonel, Chief Commissary of Subsistence, Department (Dept.) of the Ohio; Chief Commissary of Subsistence, Department of North Carolina; captain, Depot and Purchasing Commissary Officer, Louisville, Kentucky; and Chief Commissary of Subsistence, Department of the Platte.
