Christian Wallace McNabb was born in Glasgow on 01 June 1882 . Her father Hugh McNabb was a teacher of singing. Christian attended the University of Glasgow from 1902-1906 , taking classes in Latin and Mathematics in her first year; English Language and Literature and Education in her second; Moral Philosophy and French in her third, and Logic in her fourth and final year. She was awarded a first class certificate in English Language and Literature in 1904 and came eighth in her Logic (Ordinary) examination in 1906. She graduated with an MA in April 1906 and subsequently taught in Glasgow and Kingston, County Dublin, until 1922. Christian married Henry Hamilton Bell in March 1918 and died in Glasgow in May 1963 .
