Wife of the Rev. John Neilson Abeel (1768-1812); born Mary Stille, daughter of John Stille, of Philadelphia; married Abeel in 1794.

Gustavus Abeel: minister of the Dutch Reformed Church in America; graduated from Union College in 1823 and from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1824; served churches in New Jersey at English Neighborhood (now Leonia), 1824-1828, Bellville, 1828-1834, and Newark, 1849-1864, and in New York at Geneva, 1835-1849; served as a trustee of Rutgers college, 1845-1887.
