Woman's Hospital (New York, N.Y.)
Woman's Hospital in the State of New York was founded in 1857 by Dr. J. Marion Sims, "for the treatment of diseases peculiar to women", primarily obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital specialized in serving those unable to afford care elsewhere.
