Island Creek Hall Association (Island Creek, Mass.)
Organization formed in 1876 by residents of the Island Creek area of the Town of Duxbury, Mass. The intent of the association was to build, own, and manage a hall to be used by its members for parties, religious gatherings, and club meetings. Membership was originally open to all men and women over the age of 21 but later amendments prohibited anyone outside the Island Creek neighborhood limits from joining. The first officers of the association were Samuel Loring, president and treasurer and Josephus Dawes, vice-president.
