Children's Cabinet (Organization)

A private, non-profit organization established in Reno, Nevada, in 1985, to serve "children at risk" and their families in Washoe County, Nevada. Directors have been David Lumke, Shiela Leslie, and Sarah Longaker. The staff includes child-serving professionals and formerly, VISTA volunteers. Services include counseling; intervention; and consulting services for endangered children, delinquents, and status offenders. Children's Cabinet operates two facilities: the Kids Kottage Emergency Child Protection Shelter and the McGee Center for Adolescent Programs.
