Taylor, Henry, 1942-
Taylor was born in 1942 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1965 and an M.A. in creative writing from Hollins College in 1966. Poet, translator, and professor, Taylor has held teaching positions at Roanoke College (Salem, VA), the University of Utah, and American University in Washington, D.C. He also returned to Hollins as Writer-in-Residence in 1978. He has won numerous awards for his writing, including the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry in 1986 for The Flying Change: Poems.
