Wallowitch, John

John Wallowitch (1930- ) is a composer, singer and pianist born in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Temple University in Pennsylvania and received a bachelor's degree in music from the Juilliard School. During this time, he studied piano with Beveridge Webster, Abby Whiteside and Joseph Prostakoff.

Wallowitch made his concert piano debut at the Carnagie Recital Hall in 1962. Soon after, he performed in a European concert tour set forth by the U.S. State Department. After his cross-continent tour, John returned to the United States where he began composing and performing in cabaret venues. Over the years, he has composed over 1,000 songs including, "Bruce", "This Moment", "My Love Went to London", and "Come a Little Closer." During that time, he also recorded three albums of songs he wrote and performed himself.
