Oschinsky, Dorothea
Dorothea Oschinsky (1910-95), historian, teacher, and benefactor of Cambridge University Library. She was born in Silesia and completed a Ph.D. at Breslau University, although the degree was not awarded because of her Jewish descent. She came to England, studied with Eileen Power and Eleanora Carus-Wilson at the London School of Economics, and became Lecturer in Palaeography, Liverpool University, 1946-72, and Reader, 1972-76.
