Smithsonian Institution. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Environmental and External Affairs.
The post of Assistant Secretary for External Affairs was created in 1987 to coordinate the ways in which the Institution interacts with its various constituencies, including its development and membership activities. The Office was renamed Assistant Secretary for Environmental and External Affairs in 1994. Deputy Assistant Secretaries included Jeffrey LaRiche, 1988; and Marc Pachter, 1990-1994. The Office was abolished in 1994.
