Hammond, Carrie Nelson.
Carrie Hammond was born on Jan. 23, 1900 in Ogden, Utah, and grew up in the Fresno, Calif., area. In 1921, she married George Hammond, who was later director of The Bancroft Library. They travelled extensively throughout Europe and Mexico, mostly due to his research, and she maintained diaries of these travels. She died on Jan. 27, 1996.
