Clark, A. Dayton (Augustus Dayton), 1900-1990
Augustus Dayton Clark (1900-1990), a 1922 U.S. Naval Academy graduate, was the commanding officer of the presidential yacht U.S.S. Potomac and naval aide at the White House from 1936 to 1938. He was the Staff of Commander in Chief of the U.S. Fleet in Washington, D.C. from 1942 to 1943, and commanding officer of the Mulberry A project in preparation for the Normandy invasion in 1944, and retired the next year.
