Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing

The Office of the Dean was established in 1942 when the New York Hospital Training School for Nurses became affiliated with Cornell University and was organized as an academic unit. From 1942 to July 1952 the Dean's Office was combined with that of the Director of Nursing Service at the New York Hospital. In 1952 the responsibilities were split into a Director of Nursing Service and Dean. In 1958 the functions were joined again until the termination of the school in 1979 due to lack of financial support.
