King, Henry S.
Henry S. King was established as Smith, Elder & Co. in 1816. It was based at 65 Cornhill in the City of London. In 1868, it was renamed Henry S. King & Co. following partnership changes. From the outset the firm had strong connections with India, acting as London agent to many Indian-based merchants. It was taken over by army agents Cox & Co. in October 1922.
