Zolot, Norman.
Norman Zolot was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1920 and has resided in and around the city his entire life. A student of New Haven's public school system, Mr. Zolot continued his education in the city attending Yale University after high school. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1941 Zolot earned his Juris Doctorate from Yale in 1947. Upon completion of law school and admittance to the Connecticut Bar, Mr. Zolot served as a prosecuting attorney for the State of Connecticut, serving from 1947 to 1949 in the New Haven courts.
Mr. Zolot has also devoted much of his legal career to representing labor unions in the state. After serving as a state prosecutor Mr. Zolot became the general councel for the Connecticut branch of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (ALF-CIO), and has remained active in that capacity to the present day. From 1971 until 1989 Mr. Zolot also served as the general counsel for Community Health Care Center Plan in New Haven . In additon to his experience working on behalf of labor unions, Mr. Zolot has been a member of numerous legal organizations and associations and has served on a number of state committees, to include the Connecticut Employment Advisory Committee, the Committee to Study Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the Committee to Study Workers Compensation Law - Compliance with National Standards, the Committee to Study Revision of Workers Compensation Act, and the Committee to Study Municipal Employees Labor Relations . In addittion to his public service, Mr. Zolot maintains a private legal practice in Woodbridge, Connecticut .
