Wisconsin. Bureau of Community Health and Prevention
In 1981, the Bureau of Community Health (WIHV00-A1041) and the Bureau of Prevention were combined to create the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention, within the Division of Health (WIHV85-A364) in the Dept. of Health and Social Services (WIHV85-A674).
The Bureau of Community Health and Prevention administers programs to raise the level of maternal and child health, to identify chronic health problems of the elerly and to identify and control environmental hazards and communicable diseases. The bureau administers grants for local health agencies and plans and monitors the allocation of block grant funding.
