Thomas L. Leming was Senior v.p. of Transmission Systems for MCI from 1973-1986. Prior to joining MCI in 1971, Leming had served as a radar technician in the U.S. Navy during the second world war, and then held various positions with Western Electric, Motorola and Lenkurt Electronics. In 1954 he was apppointed to a director's position at Collins Radio, in charge of overseeing design and construction of microwave multiplex systems for numerous Bell Operating Companies.
Subsequently holding positions at Hughes Aircraft Company and Continental Telephone, Leming joined MCI as a Vice-President with responsibility for planning and constructing MCI's national microwave network, through the acquisition and development of new routes and the integration of other carriers into the MCI network. After retiring from MCI, Leming continued to be active in the industry as a consultant and board member for various telecommunication-oriented businesses.
