Shields, Frederic, 1833-1911
The minor artist Frederic Shields (of Manchester and London) moved in Pre-Raphaelite circles. He was a reliable friend, particularly to D.G. Rossetti and Ford Madox Brown, and often handled practical artistic matters for his acquaintances, helped them with photography, and found patrons and philanthropic objects for them.
