Whitworth, Pegram, b. 1871
Pegram Whitworth (b. Aug. 5, 1871, Mansfield, La.), Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1894. He served three tours in the Philippines, in the Panama Canal Zone, and with the American Expeditionary Force in France in 1918. During the Great Depression, General Whitworth was commander of the 6th Infantry Brigade in Utah and of thirty camps of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired from the Army in 1935.
