Rowe, George, 1796-1864
George Rowe was born at Dartmouth, England, 1797 and was a noted English landscape artist. Rowe was Commissioned by the British government to make watercolour drawings of the Victorian goldfields and arrived in Melbourne in 1852. Rowe returned to England in 1959.
