Ludlow, Roger, 1590-1665?
Massachusetts and Connecticut magistrate.
A founder of Dorchester, Mass., Ludlow was active in the early government of the Massachusetts Bay colony, serving as deputy-governor in 1634. In 1635 Ludlow joined colonists making settlements on the Connecticut River, presided at Windsor in 1636 over the first court held in Connecticut, and in 1638/39 is believed to have drafted the Fundamental Orders of the new colony.
