BIOGHIST REQUIRED Industrial cooperatives were established in China in order to aid in industrial production during the Sino-Japanese War. The CIC (Chinese Industrial Cooperatives) had three main headquarters (in northwest, southwest, and southeast China) to form the basis for small cooperative industries throughout the country, which in 1946 numbered 1,700 but which in 1948 had decreased to fewer than 500.
