Warren M. Anderson, State Senator, was born on October 16, 1915. After attending college, Anderson practiced law in Binghamton, N.Y. He was assistant Broome County attorney, 1940-1942, and served in the army during World War II. He was elected to the New York State Senate as a Republican from the 47th district (Broome County) in 1952 and was re-elected at each subsequent election until 1988.
During his time in the Senate, Warren Anderson worked as chairman of several important committees and commissions: the Senate Committee on Corporations (1960-1964); Joint Legislative Committee on Carrier Taxation (1957-1958); Joint Legislative Committee to Study Revision of Corporation Laws (1960-1964; Secretary, 1965); and Senate Finance Committee (1966). Anderson also worked on special legislative problems, such as a 1961 Special Session to address New York City School issues. Anderson served a total of 36 years in the State Senate and died on June 1, 2007.
