Freiberger, Edward, 1857-1917

Edward Freiberger (1857-1917) was a music critic with the Chicago Herald and drama critic of the Inter Ocean and editor of the Saturday Evening Herald (Chicago). In 1897 Freiberger began writing History of the Drama in Chicago for the Dunlap Society of New York, though it seems this work was not completed. In addition to journalism Freiberger wrote poetry (Wayside Pansies), a book about the history of the piano and several comedic plays. He wrote in both English and German. Freiberger was a member of the Forty Club in Chicago.
