Roberts, Tom, 1856-1931
Always known as Tom Roberts. Arrived in Australia in 1869. Studied painting under Eugene von Guerard and Thomas Clark. Spent many years in London but returned to Australia in 1922. One of the first Australian artists to paint out-door subjects, he had a great influence on other painters of the day.
