Buffalo lawyer with degrees from Princeton (A.B.) and the University of Buffalo (LL. B.); officer in U.S. Army's 102nd Anti-Aircraft Battallion in Pacific Theater during World War II (1941-1946), later rising to rank of Brigadier General in 5th Area Command of New York Guard; active in Buffalo Junior Chamber of Commerce, Buffalo Red Cross Chapter, University of Buffalo Council, Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, and many other civic organizations; councilman, Delaware District, City of Buffalo, 1951-1952.
