National Student League (U.S.). Louisiana State University Student Committee.
The New York Student League (later the National Student League) was organized in 1931 at the City College of New York. It promoted leftist student activism on campuses across the country through its journal, Student Review. The communist-run National Student League merged with the socialist Student League for Industrial Democracy to form the American Student Union in December 1935. It mobilized hundreds of thousands of students in "peace strikes" and other actions against fascism until it fragmented in 1941 after the United States entered World War II.
