Stimson, J.F. (John Francis), 1883-1958
Frank Stimson was Eleanor Stimson Brooks's brother (and thus Van Wyck Brooks's brother-in-law). Though he studied to become an architect, he ended up in Tahiti doing Polynesian linguistic work. His removed presence and taking of a Polynesian common law wife, Kotirau, estranged him from his three children (Cookie, Francis and Odette), though he kept in contact with his sister and the Brooks family.
