Royal Geographical Society of Australasia (Queensland)
The Queensland branch of the Australasian Geographical Society was formed in Brisbane in 1885 by Dr James Park Thomson. The S S Fortitude, 608 tons, with 256 immigrants, left England on the 14th of September 1848 and arrived in New South Wales 0n 20 January 1849.
