Fazio, James R.
James R. Fazio was a forestry professor and Associate Dean of the College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Range Sciences at the University of Idaho. Dr. Fazio was friends with author Michael Frome, was involved with the University of Idaho-Wilderness Research Center's lecture series, was a founding member of the Idaho Trails Council, and was also involved with the Overthrust Industrial Association (OIA) of Denver, Colorado. The OIA was an organization of 36 oil and gas producers and service/supply firms founded in 1980 by Chevron, Amoco, and Champlin. In 1983, OIA funded a project to help reduce the impact of oil booms and busts on small communities in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. Workshops were held and draft materials were produced but not published due to another downturn of the oil market.
