Daughters of the American Revolution. Alabama Society
The Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a hereditary society, was organized in Washington, D.C. in 1890. The purpose was to perpetuate the memory of those who aided in establishing American Independence.
Membership is restricted to those women who can prove at least one ancestor was involved in the Revolution and patriotic activities.
