Murray, Donald William, 1908-1988
Artist. Donald William Murray studied art under Dattillo Rubbo. In 1947, in partnership with Donald Friend, Murray purchased a cottage at Hill End, New South Wales. Over the next few years the town became established as an artists' colony, with many well known Australian artists travelling there to paint the landscape. In 1957, Donald Friend left Hill End to live overseas. Donald Murray stayed on in the cottage until his death in 1988.
