Anderson, Adam S., 1893-
As a student of textile science in Galashiels in 1913 it is likely that Adam Anderson would have been attending the South of Scotland Central Technical College, which had opened in 1909 in purpose-built premises. Grants had become available for technical education and this had led to the development of textile studies. Galashiels had been a long-time centre for the textile industry in Scotland.
From the guide to the Four notebooks containing notes on yarn calculation, spinning, and mill management, made by Adam S. Anderson, 1913, (GB 206 Leeds University Library)
