Architect; b. Vienna, Austria; draftsman, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and architect of several buildings, ca. 1850s, in Baltimore, Md.; appointed supervising architect, 1855, for State Capitol in Columbia, S.C.; served as major, Confederate States Army.
